At Premier Medical Staffing Services, we pride ourselves in assisting you to obtain the documents that you have access to, as well as, provide resources. These are the best questions to ask yourself when needing to provide medical records for a pre-employment background check.

4 Questions Healthcare Workers Should Ask Themselves About Their Immunization Records

  • Question 1.) Do you have these records from your past employer?
Answer: As an employee you can request a copy of records for your personal files.
  • Question 2.) Do you have insurance to go through a primary doctor?
Answer: Often time immunizations or titers are covered as preventative care and require only a nurse appointment or a lab order from your doctor.
  • Question 3.) Do you have your childhood records?
Answer: Immunizations do not expire. If you were immunized as a child the only updates needed are for flu and TB.
  • Question 4.) Did you check your states online immunization record?
Answer: Check your states immunization registry for records of past immunizations.

What Immunization Records Do Healthcare Workers Need?

  • Annual results of Tuberculosis test or Chest X-ray (every 5 years)
  • MMR immunization is a 2 dose vaccine or positive titer (mumps, measles, and rubella)
  • Varicella “chicken pox” is a 2 dose vaccine or positive titer
  • Flu Vaccine documentation
  • Hepatitis B is a 3 dose vaccine and can often be declined

Although the process of obtaining immunizations may seem overwhelming, there are many resources available to you. At Premier Medical Staffing Services, the entire credentialing team is always willing to assist healthcare professionals in any questions that may come up.
